The TOEFL

The TOEFL examination stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language.

This exam assesses a person who is not a native English speaker to use and understand spoken and written language at the level that is necessary for communication and study at universities and colleges. TOEFL provides a comprehensive assessment of the level of English, which allows the host universities to more accurately assess the student’s ability to communicate in the learning environment and his readiness to write written term papers.

The exam consists of 4 parts: reading and answering questions, listening and answering questions, speaking and writing.

The testing duration is 3 hours.

The exam is used by English-speaking universities, colleges, professional organizations, required by most universities in the U.S. and Canada.

The TOEFL exam certificate is valid for two years.
